Candy makes both sculptural pieces and jewellery that can be worn.
She is currently investigating the idea of touch and response within her work with the aim of encouraginging curiosity and interaction between the viewer and the piece, the wearer and the piece, and the wearer and the viewer. Movement in response to touch is important, as is finding a mechanical solution to achieve this. Colour and texture as indicators of movement are of particular interest.
Whilst she chooses material firstly to realise an idea she retains a strong affinity to metal and the traditional techniques used to form it.
"I aim to encourage fiddling, twiddling, stroking and movement within my jewellery and sculptural items."
